View from the top of Kalmit over the Rhein Valley. Here we are looking west towards Limburgerhof (where we live and is in the middle of the plain) and Heidleberg which is just about the horizon. The German Weinstrasse (Wine Street) runs from left to right at the foot of this hill.

It has about 85 kilometers of vines (23,000 hectares) containing 100 million vines and more than 10,000 growing estates. This hill is about 35 km from our house. Photos by C Warham
